Scripture:
“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)
Thankfulness often whispers, “I have what I need.” But deeper still, gratitude confesses, “God, You are all I need.” For weary parents and caregivers, this shift matters.
There's a gentle peace that enters when we stop trying to hold everything together and instead trust the One who already holds us. Christ becomes our portion. Even in weakness, He provides grace for each moment.
After my concussion, life changed in ways I could not have imagined. In the search for healing, I eventually moved to another state, alone, except for, Sammie, my loyal German Shepherd.
She was my steady companion through the uncertainty. When she passed away, even the familiar was gone. Yet, in that deep quiet, I realized that what remained was more than enough, God Himself. His presence met me in the loss, in the loneliness, in the unknown.
And there, I found peace. Not because everything was restored, but because He was with me. If you are navigating caregiving or grief right now, I hope you know He meets you there too.
When the demands of life whisper, “not enough" (not enough sleep, time, strength, energy, or clarity), let that be your cue to pause and pray.
Breathe deeply and say, “Jesus, You are enough for me today.”
One moment of surrender is stronger than a full day of striving.
Peace comes when we surrender our lives to Christ and trust His sufficiency, not our own.
Even in weakness, He provides the grace we need for every moment. Where do you need His sufficiency today?
